Keyboard is typing a french é

french é
THIS is the letter I want, ‘e’ not the french é!

Help! I can’t stand time wasters.

I was in the middle of typing in a long document today in my Medical Transcription lesson, and ended up making some typos, after which my apostrophe key started typing in an é character. Because I was making typos, I had no idea what combination of keys I pressed to start this problem. Talk about f-r-u-s-t-r-a-t-i-n-g!

I googled it and had a hard time finding an answer that worked. Finally, on “fixya.com,” I found the correct answer for me. Maybe it’ll help you.

To fix the apostrophe typing in a french é:  Press and hold the Ctrl key, then press the Shift key. Lift off completely, then repeat. That’s it. Thank you fixya!
